Charles Attlee
Non-Executive Chairman
Working with the Libra Group since 2004, Charles Attlee, age 53, brings over 30 years' experience in corporate law to the Libra Group's international operations. Charles is a solicitor (England and Wales, 1981) who has been in private practice in the City of London for many years, including as a partner with international law firm, Bryan Cave LLP where he served as the Managing Partner of the London office from 2001 to 2006. Charles's experience includes international mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance.
Charles has particular expertise in taxation and investment funds across a broad spectrum of investments including private equity, hedge funds and real estate. His real estate experience has a bias towards larger commercial and hospitality developments. Charles is a member of the Investment Property Forum.
Rajan Retnam
Chief Executive Officer
A qualified Chartered Accountant, Rajan was a key player in the management team of the Hyatt hotel chain for 36 years, helping the company grow into one of the world's leading luxury hotel brands. He has worked in locations as varied as Bangkok, Vancouver, Mexico City and Singapore. As Area Director of Finance for South-East Asia, he oversaw rapid expansion of Hyatt in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and India.
When the Sultan of Brunei acquired the Hyatt Regency Singapore in 1988, Rajan became the Managing Director of the owning company. In 1993 he reverted full-time to Hyatt as Vice-President with responsibility for technology and worldwide hotel financial operations, and later as Vice-President for Development and Administration. In 2006 he became Chief Financial Officer of First Oriental and took up the role of Chief Executive Officer in 2009.
